Southend Mum Patricia Finnie Vanishes Without a Trace
Patricia Finnie was last spotted on 11 May 2017 in Southend’s Bellevue Avenue after visiting a friend in Riviera Drive. CCTV caught a woman who fits her description heading towards Southchurch Road. Witnesses believe she caught a bus there – but since then, she’s vanished into thin air.
Family Left Heartbroken
Patricia’s family have endured the pain of her disappearance every day since. They’ve missed crucial moments – from the birth of a grandchild to the death of her own mother. Her son Matthew opened up:
“There will always be a sadness that mum has not been around to be some part of the better events of the past three years. There are parts of your life where, I believe, your mum and dad should be there.”
“We’d just told family that my partner Laura was pregnant. It was weird mum wasn’t there. She would’ve been over the moon.”
Husband’s Emotional Plea
Husband Gordon keeps Patricia’s memory alive at home. He said:
“There’s no shrine but Pat’s part of our lives. In our garden, there’s a 23-year-old Silver Anniversary rose, a rose named ‘Patricia’ from her grandson, and a plant from Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula.”
“Her cross-stitch works still decorate the walls. She’s all around.”
If you think you’ve seen someone who looks like Pat, please contact Essex Police on 101.
“The door remains ajar for her. We’re doing everything we can to find her safe and well.”
Police Hunt for Clues
Detective Superintendent Neil Pudney detailed the case:
“Patricia left Riviera Drive between 12.45pm and 1.15pm on 11 May 2017. CCTV shows her walking towards Southchurch Road, likely catching a bus.”
“She wore a full-length black quilted coat with a hood, pink top, navy trousers, and black shoes.”
“Despite hours of CCTV review, house-to-house enquiries, drone searches, and calls with bus and rail companies, we have no leads.”
“We’re keeping an open mind but need answers for her family.”
