Lorry Driver Dies from Covid After Saying “I Can’t Stay Home”
Tragic news hits the roads as Ryan Cartwright, a dedicated lorry driver, has died from Covid-19. The 36-year-old, who famously posted “I can’t stay home, I’m a trucker,” kept the nation moving during the pandemic—at great personal cost.
From Army Cavalry to Country’s Lifeline
Ryan wasn’t just any driver. He joined the army at 16, serving with the Blues and Royals Cavalry Regiment. He planned to rejoin the reserves alongside his longtime friend Ste, who he originally signed up with back in 2000.
Heartbroken Family Left Behind
Ryan was a bubbly, loving soul with a bright future cut tragically short. He leaves behind his partner Amy, her daughter Maisie, and his two children, Grace (13) and Taylor (7), who adored him. He had no underlying health issues before Covid claimed his life on April 26.
“No money in the world can bring him back,” says a family friend, “but it can ease the financial strain and give Ryan the send-off he deserves.”
