Sadiq Khan Rolls Out New Express Buses For Outer London!
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, teams up with Transport for London (TfL) to launch two brand-new express bus routes in outer London. This move aims to boost public transport links and back the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) across the capital.
Meet the New Routes: SL10 and SL1
- SL10 Route: Launched on 25 November 2023, the electric express SL10 runs between Harrow and North Finchley. It features USB charging points and mirrors parts of routes 183 and 125, serving bustling hubs and upcoming development hotspots like Brent Cross and Colindale.
- SL1 Route: Kicking off on 9 December 2023, the SL1 connects North Finchley to Walthamstow Central. Passing through Barnet, Enfield, and Waltham Forest, it aims to ease congestion on busy stretches and offer faster links to key transport hubs and town centres.
Why These Routes Matter
- Demand on all Superloop routes has surged beyond the network average, proving Londoners want quicker, greener bus options.
- The Superloop network is crucial to Khan’s pledge to overhaul outer London’s bus system – connecting town centres, hospitals, schools, and transport hubs with speed and style.
- These new buses support the ULEZ expansion, cutting emissions and cleaning up the air.
Better Travel, Cleaner Air
- The SL10 and SL1 are game-changers, linking key outer London neighbourhoods with fast, electric travel options that give commuters more choice and help tackle pollution.
