Eastbourne RNLI Launches Twice in One Day
The Eastbourne RNLI Volunteer Crew were called into action twice on Thursday, 3rd November.
False Alarm Near Eastbourne Pier
At midday, the crew launched the All Weather Lifeboat after reports of a vessel in trouble west of Eastbourne Pier. On arrival, it turned out to be a local fishing boat, safe and sound, hauling in its nets close to shore. A false alarm but with good intentions.
Late-Night Lifeboat Launch for Secret Rescue
Just before midnight, the volunteers were paged again. This time to launch the Inshore Lifeboat and assist local Coastguards and the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter in an incident east of Belle Tout Lighthouse. Details remain under wraps due to the sensitive nature of the call.
