Fire Erupts on A2 Near Dartford: No Injuries
A car went up in flames on the A2 London-bound near Bean, Dartford, on Monday afternoon, sparking a swift response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The blaze broke out around 5:40pm on the busy highway but was quickly brought under control with no injuries reported.
Firefighters Race to Scene
Kent Fire dispatched two fire engines immediately after the emergency call. Gear up in full protective kit and breathing apparatus, crews tackled the fire using hose reel jets and advanced compressed air foam systems (CAFs). Their rapid action stopped the flames from spreading and prevented any further damage.
Traffic Disrupted but Quickly Managed
The vehicle fire caused some delays on the A2, but National Highways traffic officers assisted in managing the chaos, keeping commuters safe and traffic moving as smoothly as possible during the emergency.
