Boomtown Festival CANCELLED AGAIN – Set to Return in August 2022

Boomtown Calls Off 2021 Event

Boomtown have dropped a crushing bombshell for fans – their 2021 festival, dubbed Chapter One: The Gathering, has been officially scrapped. The event, originally set for this summer, will now be pushed back to 10-14 August 2022.

In a statement, Boomtown said they’re “absolutely devastated” to share the news again, almost exactly one year after last year’s cancellation.

Why the Cancellation?

  • Boomtown faced a “mind-boggling conundrum” trying to deliver a safe, top-tier event amid ongoing COVID uncertainty.
  • With less than four months to go, time ran out to meet their “high safety and production standards.”
  • No government-backed COVID cancellation support exists for events, forcing a massive gamble of an eight-figure loss if restrictions hit at the last minute.

Without financial safety nets, the festival’s very future would be at stake.

Tickets and Next Steps

Tickets for 2021 will automatically roll over to next summer’s event. Refunds are available for those who want them.

Boomtown thanked loyal fans who held on to their tickets over the last year, saying: “You really did save the festival, and will continue to do so if you are able to roll them over again.”

The ticket resale starts on 1 June, offering those without tickets this year a chance to grab their spot for 2022’s long-awaited comeback.

Fans Left Heartbroken But Hopeful

The organisers admitted they’re “truly devastated” not to party together this summer. They understand how tough this is for thousands who kept faith in a 2021 reunion amid the beautiful fields of Boomtown.

For now, fans must wait until August 2022 to “reset the clock” and finally unite once more at one of UK’s most beloved festivals.
