Man Dead and Three Hurt in Shocking Chicago Lawn Shooting
A deadly shooting rocked Chicago Lawn on Friday night, leaving one man dead and three others wounded. It all went down on South Artesian Avenue, near the 6300 block, as four men stood chatting on the sidewalk.
Gunman in Black Dodge Charger Opens Fire
Police say a suspect inside a black Dodge Charger pulled up and sprayed bullets at the group without warning. The chaos left a 23-year-old man hit in the buttocks. He was rushed to University of Chicago Medical Center but tragically died from his injuries.
Three Others Shot but Stable
- A 24-year-old and a 27-year-old were shot in the legs. They’re now at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Holy Cross Hospital, and are reportedly in good condition.
- A 58-year-old man was hit in the hip and back. He was treated at University of Chicago Medical Center and is also in stable condition.
Police Hunt Shooter as Investigation Intensifies
No arrests have been made yet.
Area One detectives are working hard, combing through evidence and chasing leads to catch the gunman responsible for the brutal attack.
