A man was rushed to hospital after being struck by a train at Kingston station this morning, causing severe disruption on South Western lines.

Kingston Station Chaos as Emergency Services Swarm Scene

Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, raced to Kingston station following the incident at 8:15am on December 16. The area was quickly sealed off by British Transport Police, with no public access allowed. Multiple ambulances and paramedics were on site treating the injured man before he was rushed to a major trauma centre.

Witnesses reported sirens blaring and crowds gathering outside the taped-off station. Disruption on the South Western line is expected to continue until at least 11:30am but could last longer.

Official Statement from London Ambulance Service

“We were called at 8.15am today to reports of a person hit by a train at Kingston Station, KT1. We sent ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, incident response officers, the hazardous area response team (HART), and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance. The man was treated at the scene before being taken as a priority to a major trauma centre.”

The man’s condition remains unknown at this time. British Transport Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
