Police launch arson Probe after Fire Damages Building on the Isle of Wight

Police are appealing for witnesses following a motorcycle fire in Newport. Officers were called to Trafalgar Court, Union Street, in the early hours of this morning (November 27) to report of a motorcycle which had been on fire. Due to extensive fire damage it has not yet been possible to identify the exact details of the vehicle. Officers are now investigating the exact circumstances of the fire, which started around 4am. PC Tom Wyld said: “Our colleagues from the fire service have told us that there were several people walking by as they tackled the fire, probably heading home after a night out. “If this was you please contact us as you may have seen something which could assist our investigation? “As well as damage to the bike, the fire caused damage to a building and the archway, so we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen something suspicious.” Anyone with information is asked to call PC Wyld on 101, quoting 44160446985, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
