Terrifying Twickenham Stabbing: Staff Assaulted in Shop Horror
Detectives have unleashed CCTV footage in a desperate hunt to ID two men who brutally stabbed a shop worker in Twickenham. The shocking attack took place at an off-licence in Whitton’s High Street just after 10pm on Saturday, 23 December 2017.
Attack Behind the Counter
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at 22:03hrs to find a man in his 40s seriously injured. He was stabbed multiple times while working alone behind the counter. Despite his efforts to fight back, one attacker lunged behind the counter, ordering him to “open the till” before launching the vicious assault.
The second suspect stayed at the front and ripped the victim’s turban off during the struggle. Both fled towards Percy Road – but shockingly, they didn’t steal anything.
Two Suspects on the Run
- Suspect 1: Black male, around 5ft 11ins, wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, black trainers, and blue-and-grey gloves.
- Suspect 2: White male, around 5ft 11ins, in a dark blue all-weather jacket, grey tracksuit, black trainers, and orange gloves.
Police Appeal For Help
Detective Constable Mike Deans from Kingston and Richmond CID said: “This was a vicious attack on a man who was simply just doing his job at his place of work, a place where he should feel safe. The victim is understandably extremely distressed. It is pure luck he wasn’t more seriously hurt.”
He urged anyone recognising the suspects from the footage to come forward urgently. “Help us bring these cowards to justice.”
