Three held after dramatic Forest Gate police chase ends in gunfire
Scotland Yard has confirmed three arrests following a high-speed chase in Forest Gate, east London, which ended with shots fired at officers – who returned fire.
Shots fired during pursuit in Lascelles Close
Armed Met Police officers were scrambled at around 10.45pm after a firearm was spotted on Lascelles Close, E11. When a vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit was launched.
Suspects inside the car opened fire at CO19 armed officers, prompting police to shoot back.
Three suspects arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
The chase ended on Bective Road, E7 where all three suspects were detained. They have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Thankfully, no injuries were reported among officers, suspects, or the public. A police cordon remains in place as the investigation continues.
