Blaze Breaks Out at Southwark Pub
Emergency services scrambled as six fire engines and around 40 firefighters rushed to a pub blaze on Stamford Street, Southwark.
Fire Rages Through First Floor and Roof Extraction System
Flames have engulfed part of the first floor and the extraction system stretching from the first floor up to the roof. The fire is actively burning but crews are battling to contain it.
Road Closures and Firefighter Update
Station Commander David Bracewell, on scene, said: “Firefighters are making steady progress at the pub fire.”
Authorities have shut the road between Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Roundabout while crews work to control the blaze, urging locals to avoid the area.
Firefighters from Five Stations Join the Fight
The London Fire Brigade was called at 12.48pm. Fire units from Lambeth, Dockhead, Soho, Brixton, and Whitechapel stations are on site.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
