£37,000 Cash Seized at Channel Tunnel in Money Laundering Sting
Kent Police stopped a car at the Channel Tunnel terminal near Folkestone on Thursday afternoon, 6 May 2021. Inside, officers discovered a whopping £37,000 in unexplained cash.
Three Birmingham Suspects Arrested and Released
Three people from Birmingham – a 38-year-old man, a 33-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old man – were arrested on suspicion of money laundering. All have since been released as investigations continue.
Ongoing Enquiries Over Large Cash Haul
The cash remains seized while police dig deeper into its origins. Kent Police have yet to reveal where the money came from or its intended destination.
