Police Promise More Raids as Violent Crime Crackdown Intensifies

Detective Superintendent Nick Blackburn said:

“It was a busy morning for Met officers in all corners of London, working from dawn to execute warrants and make arrests as part of our ongoing violence reduction efforts. “Since Monday, six suspected firearms and numerous knives have been seized, with over 20 arrests so far. “We take violent crime seriously and are making strong headway taking weapons off the streets to protect the public. “But there’s more work to do. London remains one of the safest global cities, and we’ll keep pursuing high-risk offenders tirelessly. “We need the public’s help. Reporting info to police or Crimestoppers is vital — we can’t police our way out of this alone. Reducing violence is a team effort.”
