Man Charged After Brutal Week Street Assault
Police swooped after a vicious attack on Week Street near Station Road on the evening of Saturday 23 April 2022. The assault happened between 8.45pm and 8.55pm, leaving an 18-year-old victim badly hurt.
Victim Rushed to London Hospital
Officers, joined by the South East Coast Ambulance Service, quickly arrived at the scene. The injured teenager was rushed to a London hospital with serious but non-life-threatening wounds.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Just days later, on Tuesday 26 April, cops arrested 20-year-old Michael Jibowu from Upper Wickham Lane, Welling, Greater London. Following the Crown Prosecution Service’s green light, Jibowu was charged with wounding with intent.
He was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 27 April.
