The Victim Was Flown To A London Hospital In A Serious Condition After Emergency Services Arrived On The Scene

Following a serious assault in Hythe, a suspect has been charged.

 

An altercation occurred in the garden of a pub on Seabrook Road around 11.20 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022. A man was reportedly struck in the face and suffered a head injury during the incident.

 

The victim was flown to a London hospital in a serious condition after emergency services arrived on the scene. Kent Police investigations led to the arrest of a suspect in Folkestone about an hour after the alleged crime.

 

Mathew Chapman, of Kent Road, Folkestone, has since been charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. On Monday, May 30th, the 33-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and was bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court.
