Cop’s Rage Attack After Text Scandal Sparks Police Call-Out
Officer A tried to brush off explicit text messages at first. But eight days later, mixing booze and anti-depressants pushed him over the edge.
He rocked up at his wife’s mum’s house in a furious state, shouting, swearing and banging on doors and windows. Witnesses say he even threatened to smash the door down and then tried sneaking in through the back. Police were called, and his ex-wife was left terrified by the outburst.
Mental Health Issues Played Major Role in Shocking Incident
The misconduct panel revealed Officer A was struggling with serious mental health problems during the meltdown. Despite quitting the force in remorse, the panel ruled the incident didn’t warrant his dismissal. He won’t be put on the College of Policing’s barred list.
Friends and colleagues defended the officer, calling him a “good man with a big heart” and insisting the behaviour was out of character and caused by extreme stress.
Case Shines Spotlight on Police Mental Health Support
The hearing made clear how crucial mental health support is for police officers. It also showed how deeply personal problems can spill over into professional life, complicating disciplinary decisions.
