13-Year-Old Girl Stabbed in Sheffield: Boy Arrested
Police rushed to a shocking stabbing in Sheffield on Tuesday night. At around 9 p.m., officers were called after reports that a 13-year-old girl had been stabbed in the abdomen.
The young victim was quickly taken to hospital by ambulance. She remains in stable condition.
Teen Boy Held Over Attempted Murder
A 13-year-old boy from Sheffield has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Detective Superintendent Nikki Leach urged the public to stay calm. She said the victim and suspect are known to each other and assured there is no wider threat to the community.
“We know that this incident will have caused deep concern amongst the local community and beyond,” said Det Supt Leach. “Our officers remain on the scene and are conducting additional patrols to reassure you.”
