In a devastating incident last week, 18-year-old Polite Moyo lost his life in a collision on the A6120 Ring Road in Leeds. The accident, which occurred at 03.28 on Friday, involved a white Audi A3 leaving the westbound carriageway and colliding with a telegraph pole at the junction with Parkside Road, Meanwood.

Polite Moyo, along with a 19-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The family of the young man has expressed their grief and love for him in a heartfelt statement. Describing Polite as a “lovely handsome gentleman” with a caring and giving nature, the family highlighted his pure and beautiful soul, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

In the wake of the tragic incident, an 18-year-old man remains in critical but stable condition in the hospital. Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has been released on bail, pending further investigations.

The Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) urges anyone with relevant information to come forward. They specifically appeal to those who were driving in the area or reside along the route to review their dashcam or home CCTV footage.
