Tragic Crash on A92 Near Rathillet Claims Woman’s Life
Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit is hunting for witnesses after a fatal smash on the A92 near Rathillet on Tuesday, 3 October 2023.
Three-Vehicle Collision Leaves 73-Year-Old Woman Dead
The horror unfolded around 1.25pm when a Mercedes B-class, driven by a 73-year-old woman, collided with a lorry driven by a 62-year-old man and a Nissan Qashqai helmed by a 65-year-old man.
Despite emergency services rushing to the scene, sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the spot. Luckily, the other two drivers escaped without injury.
Police Seek Key Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
“We are still piecing together what happened,” said Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick, leading the investigation. “Anyone who saw the crash or was driving in the area at the time—especially if you have dash-cam footage—we need you to come forward.”
Officers say a white car was spotted on the road just before the crash. Sergeant Kirkpatrick urged that driver to get in touch, as their information could be crucial.
