In the early hours of Sunday, December 31, a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following reports of a hit-and-run car crash that left two parked vehicles significantly damaged.
The incident unfolded when the driver of a Ford Fiesta allegedly collided with two stationary cars, causing substantial damage to both. The aftermath of the accident led to a swift police response, and the driver was apprehended after attempting to flee the scene. He currently remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police provided details of the incident, stating, “Police were called to a report that a Ford Fiesta car had hit two stationary vehicles in Coopers Hill, Willingdon, at about 4.07 am on Sunday, December 31. On arrival, the vehicles were blocking the road, and the driver of the Ford Fiesta had made off.”
Law enforcement officers later traced the driver to an address in Eastbourne, where he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle while unfit through alcohol and/or drugs. He is currently in custody, pending further investigation into the incident.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision, which involved a blue Peugeot estate and a blue Toyota Aygo. The impact of the crash left the Peugeot’s back wheel significantly damaged, while the Toyota’s bonnet sustained severe damage.
