Firefighters Race to Contain Blaze
The fire ravaged a communal area on the second floor, causing significant damage to the residential block. Crews from Erith, Bexley, and Plumstead fire stations stormed the scene, donning breathing apparatus to battle the blaze head-on. The London Fire Brigade received the 999 call at 8:45 pm and had the fire under control by 9:30 pm.
