Teenage Girl Taken to Hospital After Being Hit by Car Outside Dartford College

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car outside North Kent College in Dartford this morning (September 13). The incident occurred just before 8:10 AM on Oakfield Lane, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

Officers from Kent Police and crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) arrived at the scene to find the girl, believed to be a Year 12 pupil at Wilmington Grammar School for Girls, injured. She was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical care. Her condition remains unknown at this time.

A letter was sent home by Wilmington Grammar School, thanking parents and students who stopped to help at the scene and offering support to anyone who witnessed the accident, according to Kent Online.

A spokesperson for SECAmb confirmed the call-out, saying, “SECAmb were called shortly after 8am this morning to reports of an RTC [road traffic collision] involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before taking them to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical treatment.”

Kent Police also provided a statement on the incident: “Kent Police was called by South East Coast Ambulance Service at 8:06am on Friday, 13 September, to be made aware of a collision involving a teenager and a car in Oakfield Lane, Dartford. Officers attended and took details as required.”

The incident has caused concern in the local community, with many offering their best wishes for the girl’s recovery. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
