Emergency services have been called to Lloyds Banking Group on Gresham Street in the City if London, following reports of a suspected ordnance device at the site. The incident was reported to Police just after 2.30pm on Monday, 16 September 2024.
The area around the banking group’s headquarters has been cordoned off, with response vehicles positioned at on King Street and Gresham Street.
Specialist teams have been called in and are currently assessing the situation, though no official confirmation has yet been made regarding the nature of the package.
Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area while investigations continue, and nearby offices have been evacuated as a precaution. No injuries have been reported.
The police and other emergency services, including specialist bomb disposal units, remain on the scene to ensure the safety of the public and investigate the suspect package.
