Oasis Reunion Tour Promoters Begin Ticket Cancellation for Unauthorised Sales

Promoters of the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour have announced they will start cancelling tickets that breach the tour’s terms and conditions, aiming to curb unauthorized resales. The promoters of Oasis Live ’25 stated that “examination of ticket sales is ongoing” and that findings would be “passed to relevant law enforcement” if necessary. Cancelled tickets will be reissued at face value on Ticketmaster, with fans warned to avoid purchasing tickets from unofficial sources due to the risk of fraud and cancellations.

An estimated 50,000 tickets may be affected, according to the BBC. The reunion, marking Oasis’s return since their infamous breakup in 2009, includes performances in major cities across the UK and Ireland—Manchester, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin—as well as dates in the US, Canada, and Australia.

A spokesperson for the promoters explained the decision, saying: “Ticket agents Ticketmaster and See Tickets will start the process of cancelling tickets that are believed to have broken the terms and conditions put in place for the tour.” The terms were designed to prevent ticket reselling at inflated prices, resulting in only 4% of tickets appearing on secondary sites—significantly lower than the 20% seen for some major tours.

The promoters encourage fans to resell tickets only through Ticketmaster or Twickets, the band’s official resale partner, where prices are capped at face value. Tickets previously surfaced on resale site Viagogo for exorbitant prices, with some passes listed from £596 to over £2,600 for the Wembley dates.

The release of tickets sparked a wave of fan backlash, especially over dynamic pricing, which saw some standard tickets increase from £148 to £355. This controversy has led the government and the UK Competition and Markets Authority to scrutinize the practice, which some argue exploits demand. Ticketmaster, however, has clarified it does not control pricing, leaving this decision to event organizers.

Fans who suspect their tickets were cancelled in error should follow instructions in emails sent by the relevant agent, according to the promoters. Further details on the reissue of cancelled tickets through Ticketmaster will be shared in the coming weeks.
