A two-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car on a residential street in Wembley, northwest London, on Sunday evening. Emergency responders, including police, paramedics, and London’s Air Ambulance trauma team, rushed to the scene on Rowley Close at around 7:15 pm following reports of the collision.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the toddler was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved has been questioned by police, but no arrests have been made, according to the Metropolitan Police.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “Police are investigating a fatal collision that took place in Rowley Close, Wembley at around 7.15 pm on Sunday, 27 October. A car was in collision with a two-year-old boy at the location. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died.”
The London Ambulance Service confirmed their response to the tragic incident, stating, “We were called at 6.58 pm on Sunday 27 October to reports of an incident on Acton Lane, NW10. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance in a car. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a child was pronounced dead at the scene.”
