Woman in Her 60s Killed in Kingsbury Hit-and-Run; Police Appeal for Information

A woman in her 60s has tragically died following a hit-and-run collision in Kingsbury Road during the early hours of Thursday, November 7. The incident, involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, occurred just before 12:30 a.m.

Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and crews from the London Ambulance Service, arrived swiftly on the scene. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, prompting a police investigation. A crime scene has been established, and cordons remain in place as detectives continue their inquiries.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson stated, “Detectives are investigating a fatal collision at Kingsbury Road, NW9. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a female pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The driver did not stop, and despite the efforts of medics, the woman sadly died at the scene.”

The woman’s next of kin have been informed.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage, or may have information on the driver’s identity to come forward. Witnesses are encouraged to contact police on 101 or on X @MetCC quoting 153/7NOV. Anonymous tips can be submitted via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added, “We were called at 12:26 a.m. and dispatched ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, and an incident response officer. Despite the best efforts of our responders, a woman died at the scene.”

The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to help bring closure to the victim’s family.
