Four Charged Over Death of Six-Month-Old Baby Archie Woodbridge
Tragic Death Sparks Multi-Force Police Probe
Four people have been charged following the death of six-month-old Archie Woodbridge in Houghton Regis. Police were called to the family home on February 9, 2024, amid welfare concerns. Baby Archie was rushed to hospital but tragically died shortly after arrival.
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit launched an extensive investigation into the heartbreaking case.
Serious Charges For Four Houghton Regis Residents
On February 25, 2025, Bedfordshire Police charged the following individuals:
- Kieran Humphreys, 32 – charged with murder of a child, child cruelty, and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
- Sam Wyatt, 33 – charged with child cruelty and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
- Sharon Humphreys, 58 – charged with child cruelty and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
- Karen Smith, 39 – charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
Court Dates Set As Case Unfolds
- Kieran Humphreys is currently remanded in custody and will appear at Luton Crown Court on Friday, February 28.
- The other three defendants have been bailed and will face Luton Magistrates’ Court on March 27.
