McDonald’s McRib Spotted in UK Supermarket After Being Pulled From Menus

The legendary pork sandwich, which was removed from McDonald’s UK menus after a brief return in 2024, appears to have resurfaced in an unexpected location, giving hope to devoted customers longing for its comeback.

McRib Found in Discount Retailer?

According to reports, shoppers have spotted frozen McRib patties for sale at Company Shop, a little-known supermarket chain that sells surplus stock from major brands.

An employee at Company Shop said:

“We often get surplus food in from some of the big fast-food chains. We’ve had stuff from McDonald’s, KFC, and Greggs.

The discovery was highlighted by Instagram food page @uknewestfoods, which posted a video of McRib patties being sold in packs of 10 for just £2.50.

However, there’s no McDonald’s branding on the packaging, and the product is simply labeled as “legendary rib patties.”

Exclusivity and Availability

Company Shop operates just 13 locations across the UK, and its stock changes daily, making it uncertain how long the McRib patties will be available.

Additionally, not everyone can shop there—the store is only open to workers in emergency services, the NHS, the military, and those on certain means-tested benefits, such as Universal Credit and Housing Benefits.

Fans Demand McRib’s Return

The sighting has reignited calls for McDonald’s to permanently reinstate the McRib. The sandwich has developed a cult following since its first introduction in 1981, and despite multiple limited-time returns, it remains one of the chain’s most elusive menu items.

Whether or not these patties are officially linked to McDonald’s, their appearance has certainly stirred excitement among fast-food lovers eager for another taste of the iconic barbecue-flavored burger.
