Emergency services responded to a significant rooftop fire at a residential property on Collendale Road, Walthamstow on the afternoon of Thursday, 15 May 2025.

The fire, reported just after 1:30 pm, triggered multiple emergency calls from concerned residents and witnesses who spotted smoke and flames from across the road.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) mobilised numerous crews to the scene

London fire Brigade Engines  from Walthamstow and surrounding stations were dispatched, including those trained for extended breathing apparatus (EDBA) operations, suggesting concerns about internal building access or hazardous conditions.

Standby units were also placed at Station F36 (Walthamstow) to maintain local fire cover due to the scale of the response.

Public Safety & Ongoing Response

At present, there have been no confirmed injuries, but emergency services remain at the scene. The London Ambulance Service (LAS) has also been spotted nearby, assisting in related incidents, including a separate report at Northwood Tower in Walthamstow.

The cause of the rooftop fire has not yet been confirmed, and the London Fire Brigade is expected to provide an update once the fire is fully extinguished and the building made safe.
