Knife and Weapon Charge After Street Fight
Kent Police swooped after a violent clash between two groups erupted in Folkestone on the evening of Wednesday, 2 June 2021. The disturbance broke out around 8.10pm on Dover Road near Harbour Way.
Three Injured, One Man Charged
Three people suffered injuries and had to be treated in hospital. Peter Young, 51, from Dover Road, Folkestone, was charged on 4 June with grievous bodily harm, a public order offence, possession of a kitchen knife in public, and possession of a wooden weapon.
Young remains in custody and is set to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on the same day.
Other Suspects Released on Bail
Four other Folkestone men aged 18, 19, 21, and 41 were also arrested but have been released on bail pending further investigation.
Police Seek Witnesses and Footage
Detectives are urging anyone who witnessed the clash or has personal CCTV from the area to come forward. They also want anyone travelling through Dover Road between 8.10 and 8.15pm on 2 June to check dashcams for footage that could aid the probe.
