Teenager due in court over Battersea Murder
A 16-year-old male will appear in court today, Friday, 31 May accused of the murder of a man in Battersea. The teenager – who is from Wandsworth – was arrested in connection with the man’s death on Wednesday, 29 May and charged yesterday. He will appear at uk/news/uk/WIMBLEDON" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Wimbledon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="67729">Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court today. Yesterday, officers also arrested a 19-year-old male on suspicion of murder after he self-presented at a LONDON" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="south west London" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="72017">south west London police station. The victim has been named as Brazilian national, Iderval da Silva, aged 46. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. The murder investigation led by detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command continues. An other 16-year-old boy was arrested near to the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on the day of the incident. He was taken to a west London police station and has been bailed to return on a date in early June pending further enquiries.
