Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group, has released two female captives as a humanitarian gesture, facilitated through Qatari-Egyptian mediation, according to a statement by Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for the group’s armed wing. Despite the enemy’s alleged refusal to accept them and neglect of the prisoners’ issue, the decision to release the captives was made on humanitarian and health grounds.
Abu Obaida stated, “We decided to release them for humanitarian and poor health grounds… Despite that, the enemy refused to receive them last Friday.” This comes after the armed wing had previously released two Americans on Friday, almost two weeks after they were abducted, along with dozens of others, by Hamas gunmen near Gaza.
