Woman Found Dead in Hayes Home: Man Arrested for Murder

Tragedy struck in Hayes on New Year’s Eve when police discovered a 39-year-old woman with serious injuries at a house on Willenhall Drive. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim Believed to Be Stephanie Hansen

Officers are confident the victim is Stephanie Hansen, who lived at the address. Her family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem is scheduled for Monday, 2 January.

Man Held on Suspicion of Murder

A 29-year-old man, known to Stephanie, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. The investigation is ongoing, but police say there is no further threat to the community.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said:

“My thoughts are with Stephanie’s family. They have suffered an unimaginable loss and we will give them every support. I know this incident will have shocked the local community. We are not looking for any further suspects and there is no continuing risk to residents or the wider public.”

He urged anyone who knew Stephanie or who was in the area around Willenhall Drive between the morning of Friday 30 December and Saturday 31 December to come forward. Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage.
