Nine-Year-Old Boy Airlifted to London After Brutal Dog Attack in Canterbury
A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being savagely bitten multiple times by a dog in Canterbury. The child, related to the dog owner’s partner, was airlifted to a London hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police and Armed Officers Respond to Shocking Attack
Kent Police, with armed officers, were called to Orchard Flats on Cumberland Avenue just before 3pm on Sunday. Paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was flown to hospital. His distraught auntie, who witnessed the attack, tried to pull the dog away from the child.
Dog Owner’s Partner Arrested as Investigation Continues
The dog owner’s partner, who was in charge of the dog at the time, has been arrested. According to the woman, officers seized the dog—a French Bull Bullmastiff—after the attack. The family had been planning to take the dog for a walk when the incident happened.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.”
