Ambulance Trapped by Rising Tide at Camber Sands on New Year’s Day
An ambulance from the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust found itself in a sticky situation early on New Year’s Day at Camber Sands. While attending a major medical emergency, the incoming tide started lapping at the vehicle’s wheels, threatening to trap the crew.
Despite the rising water, the team kept their heads, focusing on the patient’s care. A second ambulance arrived to rush the patient to hospital, while a replacement vehicle was summoned so the shift could continue without delay.
