Cowes Lifeboat Scrambles Over False Alarm in Totland Bay

RNLI Called Out by Coastguard

Cowes RNLI volunteers were rushed to Totland Bay this Tuesday evening after the UK Coastguard spotted a boat in trouble. The ‘Sheena Louise’ Atlantic 85 lifeboat was already nearby and tasked with investigating immediately.

Thorough Search Comes Up Empty

The Cowes crew raced across the bay at full speed and conducted an extensive search. Despite combing the area carefully, no sign of a stranded or distressed boat was found.

Search Stand-Down and Updates

With no trace uncovered, the lifeboat was stood down and returned to Cowes at 8.55pm. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
