Man’s Body Found in River Cray Sparks Police Probe
A man was found dead in the River Cray near Crayford Way on March 3, triggering a swift police response. Although initially investigated, authorities have now confirmed there’s nothing suspicious about his death.

Officers were called just before 10:45am and arrived promptly alongside the Metropolitan Police’s Marine Policing Unit. The body of a man, believed to be in his 60s, was recovered from the water.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The man’s next of kin have been informed. His death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Emergency Services Tried to Save Him
The London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene after reports of a person in the water. Despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ambulance service stated: “We sent a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
