Cop Injured After Suspects Flee in Blue Audi
A police constable was hurt after suspects fled a disturbance in West Street late on Monday, 9 August 2021.
Chase Ends in Officer’s Fall
Officers were called to a private address at around 10.50pm. While one cop spoke to a resident, three men slipped out a back door, heading to a blue Audi A3 parked in Crown Street. A fourth man sat behind the wheel.
As the officer approached and leaned in to ask them to stop, the car sped off, causing the officer to fall and sustain injuries.
Suspects Described – Police Appeal for Witnesses
- First man: white, late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 10ins, average build, black hair.
- Second man: white, about 5ft 10ins, large build, short dark hair, wearing a black Nike t-shirt.
- Third man: mid-20s, around 5ft 7ins, slim build, short black hair.
On 11 August, a 25-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker but has since been released pending further inquiries.
Call for CCTV and Dashcam Footage
Medway CID urges anyone who witnessed the incident or captured footage on private CCTV or dashcams to come forward. They are particularly interested in any recordings of the blue Audi A3 in the area.
