A 25-year-old man was arrested today, Monday 17 October, on suspicion of assisting an offender after a fatal stabbing in Fairfield Road. He remains in custody as police continue their murder probe.
Man Found Stabbed Near Pub in Fairfield Road
Officers were called just before 10:20pm on Thursday 13 October after reports of a man with stab wounds near Fairfield Road. Emergency services, including London Ambulance and Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene but sadly, Michael was pronounced dead there.
Michael is believed to have been attacked in Fairfield Road before stumbling to Fairfield East, where he entered a pub garden. Concerned customers helped and dialed 999 for urgent medical aid.
Post-Mortem Confirms Cause of Death
The post-mortem at Kingston Mortuary on Saturday 15 October ruled the cause of death as stab wounds.
Detectives Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said:
“Our investigation continues with the arrest of a man but we still urgently need to speak to anyone who may have information about what happened on Thursday evening. It is really important that if you witnessed any part of this incident, even if you don’t think it was important, you please come forward and speak to us. My thoughts are very much with this young man’s family and friends.”
