Teen Thieves Busted in Radford After High-Speed Bike Chase
Police Spot Youths Snatching Phones in Midland Way
Officers were tipped off about two lads riding bikes and trying to snatch mobile phones from passersby in Midland Way, Radford, at around 10.15pm on Friday, 11 March 2022.
Chase Ends in Scramble and Arrest
Police quickly rolled up and spotted the pair. They tried to make a run for it. One suspect toppled off his bike and sprinted, but an officer grabbed his jacket. Despite being kicked and causing the officer to stumble, she held on until backup arrived and arrested him. The officer suffered minor knee injuries during the struggle.
The other suspect was caught after a foot chase. A search revealed he was carrying a knife.
Two 15-Year-Olds Now in Custody
- One 15-year-old boy is held on suspicion of attempted robbery and knife possession in public.
- The second 15-year-old faces charges including attempted robbery, assault with intent to resist arrest, and carrying burglary tools.
