Family Pleads for Witnesses After Man Dies Following Daylight Assault in Bexley
The family of Wayne Hoskyns, 41, have made a desperate appeal for more witnesses after he died following a brutal assault in Bexley.
Daylight Attack in Crayford
Police were called at 4.18pm on Friday, 19 June after the London Ambulance Service reported a man had been assaulted on The Parade, Crayford.
Officers found Wayne unresponsive at the scene. He was airlifted to hospital in critical condition but tragically died the next afternoon on Saturday, 20 June.
Heartbroken Family Call for Justice
Wayne, a devoted father of five from Crayford, leaves behind a grieving family. His wife pleaded: “We beg you to please come forward if you have any information. This is an awful tragedy and we want justice for Wayne, a loving husband and daddy. Our hearts are breaking.”
Wayne’s mother added: “He was a much loved father, son, brother, and uncle. His family has been devastated by this senseless crime. Please come forward if you saw anything.”
Police Hunt Key Witnesses With Pet Carrier
Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance, leading the investigation, said: “Wayne was assaulted in broad daylight in Cray Gardens. We are making progress but still need information. We want to identify a man and woman seen in Cray Gardens that afternoon carrying a pet carrier, possibly with a small dog.”
A 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action. Police continue to follow up enquires.
