Tragic Beckton Blaze Claims Schoolgirl’s Life
A devastating fire in Beckton has claimed the life of a local schoolgirl named Tiffany Regis. The London Fire Brigade confirmed that one person died after the blaze ripped through a flat on Tollgate Road yesterday evening. Social media is awash with tributes to the young victim.
Fire Rips Through Flat During Possible House Party
The dangerous blaze tore through the residential block while reports suggest a house party may have been underway, though this remains unconfirmed. Firefighters found Tiffany inside a second-floor flat and pronounced her dead at the scene.
The London Ambulance Service rushed five others to hospital. By 6.33pm, six fire engines and 40 firefighters had battled the flames under control.
Murder Probe Underway After Arrest
Police have launched a murder investigation into the blaze. A man has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately setting the fire. Enquiries are ongoing.
“There was a bit of smoke, and one of my colleagues said, ‘call the police,’” said Raza Nowsin, 26, who runs a shop opposite the scene. “As soon as I stepped outside, I saw a massive fire. It was mostly on the balcony and then the entire flat caught fire.”
“I saw people jumping out windows from the top balcony. They tried to land on a mattress below, but some couldn’t make it.”
Aftermath: Burned-Out Flats and Floral Tributes
This morning, police remain on scene as investigations continue. Photos show charred windows and floral tributes left by mourners mourning Tiffany’s tragic death.
