Shocking new details have emerged after two men were gunned down with a Mac 10 submachine gun in Brixton last night. The attack has left the local community reeling.
Victim’s Family in Shock
The brother of one victim, who asked to remain anonymous, spoke of his disbelief following the early evening shooting in South West London. “I’m still in shock,” said the local businessman. He revealed his niece and nephew had been in a shop just across the road moments before the shooting.
“We really don’t know what this is all about. The police have been here all night and all day,” he added.
Witnesses Describe Horrifying Scene
Neighbours reported hearing rapid gunfire. “I heard it all – shots fired from a submachine gun. The attackers were hell-bent on causing serious damage,” one onlooker revealed.
Police Give Update on Incident
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers were called at 6:52pm on Friday, 31 July, to reports of gunshots near Akerman Road, SW9. Police, including firearms teams, found damage to two parked vehicles but initially no victims at the scene.
Shortly after, two men turned up at a South London hospital with gunshot wounds. Their condition is currently unknown.
“Officers remain at the scene. So far, no arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing,” the police added.
