Man, 22, Arrested for Murder After Fatal Stabbing on Islington’s Upper Street
A 22-year-old man has been arrested for murder following a brutal stabbing on Upper Street, Islington. The violent attack unfolded around 6.30pm on Monday, 21 May, near Tyndale Lane junction.
Victim Dies Despite Emergency Efforts
Police and London Ambulance crews rushed to the scene after reports of a stabbing. They found a man in his 30s with multiple stab wounds. Despite lifesaving attempts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed. The victim is believed to be from Haringey, but formal ID is pending.
Police Hunt for Witnesses with Crucial Footage
The Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Whellams described the attack as “brutal” and happening in broad daylight on a busy street.
“I am asking anyone who saw the assault or has any information to contact detectives. In particular, we want to speak to anyone who may have filmed the incident or has dash-cam footage. Your information could be vital,” said DCI Whellams.
