Gun Tossed From Car Sparks Manhunt for Manchester Man
Police are urgently hunting Salman Gull, 24, in connection with a shocking firearms incident in Manchester. It happened around 9.30pm on Saturday 28 July when two men were seen driving a white VW Passat along Allama Iqbal Road, Oldham.
Unbeknownst to officers, a firearm and ammunition were thrown from the car near the Fiddlers Green pub, Alexandra Terrace, off the busy A6 Stockport Road in Levenshulme. A member of the public discovered the weapon and handed it to police.
Arrest Made, But Another Man Still on the Run
On 9 August, a 22-year-old man was arrested at his home in Levenshulme linked to the case. However, the National Crime Agency (NCA) say their hunt continues for Salman Gull, of Wilbraham Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
“This is an extremely serious offence whereby a firearm was thrown from a car as it drove down a busy road,” said Andrew Etherington, NCA Operations Manager.
“Fortunately, the individual who found the weapon immediately informed police – but this could have had a very different outcome.”
“We urge anyone who knows where Salman Gull is, or has any info, to come forward now. Helping him evade capture is a serious crime and could lead to arrest.”
