Gunfire erupts in Tower Hamlets: Two men shot, police hunt silver Skoda driver
Shots Fired in Swaton Road, E3
Detectives are on high alert after a firearm was discharged on Swaton Road, Tower Hamlets, on Sunday, 7 May at around 9pm. Police were called following reports from a member of the public, sparking a full-scale investigation.
Two Men Injured in Drive-By Shooting
Officers discovered a 21-year-old and a 66-year-old man suffering gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. Both were rushed to hospital and have since been confirmed as in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
Suspect Flees in Silver Skoda Octavia
Investigations reveal the victims were shot while sitting inside their car. The shooter then fled the scene in a silver Skoda Octavia, heading towards Campbell Road in E3.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Inspector Mat Freeman of the Met’s Specialist Crime North said: “Any firearm discharge on the streets of London is cause for huge concern to members of the public, and I can assure them that we share that concern and are doing everything we possibly can to identify those responsible.”
“It would have been busy with traffic and people in the area at the time. We are keen to speak to anyone who has dash cam footage or information that could help us, especially with regards this vehicle.
“The slightest fragment of information could prove crucial so please, if you have information or material that can help, make contact immediately.”
