Murder Probe Launched After Dad Collapses Outside Blackpool McDonald's
Tragedy struck Blackpool after 38-year-old Daniel Allsop collapsed outside a McDonald’s on Bank Hey Street and died days later. Daniel fell ill on Monday, October 2, and sadly passed away on Wednesday, triggering a murder investigation.
Daniel’s Family Mourns Their Loved One
A Home Office post-mortem was carried out, confirming suspicious circumstances behind Daniel’s death.
Daniel’s family paid tribute, calling him a beloved son, dad, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and cousin. They said, “He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.”
Police Seek Witnesses After Daytime Assault
Detective Chief Inspector Jill Johnston, leading the case, sent condolences to Daniel’s family and urged anyone who was near Bethesda Road around 4:30 pm on October 2 to come forward.
“We believe that Daniel was assaulted on Bethesda Road in the middle of a busy town centre in broad daylight. If you saw anything — no matter how small or insignificant it may seem — please contact us,” said DCI Johnston.
Community Reassured As Officers Ramp Up Patrols
DCI Johnston reassured residents this is being treated as an isolated incident amid rising local worries over recent crimes. Extra police patrols have been sent to increase safety and gather more information.
