Man Arrested Over Woman’s Death in Gillingham
Detectives have swooped on a man in his 30s, arresting him on suspicion of murder after a 39-year-old woman was found dead in Gillingham.
Tragic Discovery on Richmond Road
Kent Police were called to a property on Richmond Road at 4.51pm on Thursday, 16 January 2020. Despite the arrival of the South East Coast Ambulance Service, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed.
Investigation Underway
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have launched a full investigation. The suspect remains in custody, with officers saying he and the victim were known to each other.
Neighbours Shocked by Disturbing Scene
“It was like something out of ‘The Bill’. It’s tragic she was so young. If it’s the lady I’m thinking of, she might have had a couple of children,” said one local man. “I had just come back from walking the dog when police flooded the area. Scene of crime teams turned up late last night in white suits and were in and out of the house.”
