Man Fatally Injured in Early Morning Incident on Southgate Street
Emergency services rushed to Bath city centre just before 3.30am after reports of a seriously injured man. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Three Arrested as Murder Inquiry Launched
Police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. They remain in custody as detectives probe the case.
“Our thoughts go out to the family of the man who has died at this difficult and incredibly upsetting time,” said Chief Inspector Ronnie Lungu. “We ask the public to avoid speculation while investigations continue.”
Increased Police Patrols and Scene Remains Active
Ch Insp Lungu added that, while such tragic events are rare in Bath, residents will see more police presence in the coming days. The scene on Southgate Street is still cordoned off, causing some disruption.
“We appreciate the inconvenience and ask for patience as officers work to uncover the truth,” he said.
